Curious Clara
The idea of "Curious Clara" was inspired by the real-life two year old Clara Marie and the beautiful city of Amsterdam where so many strange and curious things happen every day.
In the book Curious Clara is a blond 5-year old girl who is still very innocent and sees the good in everyone and everything. She tries to help out where she can which leads to her exciting adventures in and around Amsterdam.
The Authors
Maike Mehlert and Ken Carroll are the proud parents of Clara Marie and baby Mia Sophie.
Maike was born and raised in near Hamburg in Germany but has lived in the Netherlands for the past nine years after spending some time in the UK and the US prior to that. She used to work in Event Management but is now a full-time mum with a second baby due in August 2009
Ken spent a good part of his life in Southampton in England but fell in love with Amsterdam some ten years ago and has spent quite some time in the city ever since. Although working in the Broadband Industry Ken is an entrepreneur at heart and is always looking for the next best thing and never seems to run out of ideas.

The Illustrator
Rachelle Meyer has worked as a freelancer in the graphics field for over ten years, most recently specializing in children's and editorial illustration. She moved to Amsterdam in 2006 after living in New York City for 8 years, and originally hails from the fine city of Austin, Texas. The Future
